About the Opportunity

T.P. Turner has an exciting full-time opportunity for an energetic and analytical Junior Contracts Administrator / Estimator to join their team based in Bundamba, Ipswich.

This is a vital role within the business, as you will be preparing bills of quantities, reviewing subcontractor and supplier pricing, preparing tender estimates, and following through reviewing and administer contracts, and ensure that the invoices and contracts reflect what has been supplied.

Essentially, you'll be drawing on your knowledge and experience within the building/construction industry to examine the accuracy and details of each contract and invoice, using use the Primavera contract management software. Once you've signed off on the contract/invoice, T.P. Turner's established Accounting team will then look after all traditional accounting practices (accounts receivable, accounts payable, MYOB etc).

More specifically, your day to day duties will include:

  • Preparing Bills of Quantities;
  • Reviewing subcontractor and supplier pricing;
  • Reviewing contracts;
  • Managing subcontractors;
  • Monitoring spending;
  • Approving supplier invoices;
  • Variation claims;
  • Progress claims (subcontractors and clients); and
  • Preparing monthly reports.

To be successful, you must hold a tertiary qualification in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying. 

Ideally, you will also have a demonstrated background and/or strong understanding of Contracts Administration / Estimating within the construction, building or engineering industry. 

While not essential, candidates with up to 5 years experience in the industry as an Estimator will be highly regarded. 

Please note: Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. 

We use Buildsoft for estimating, Microsoft Project for scheduling, and Buildlogic for contract management, and the successful candidate would be expected to have a good level of knowledge in all of these, as well as a generally high standard of computer literacy. Being a busy workplace, you'll often encounter competing priorities and tight deadlines, so you'll need to demonstrate the ability to stay calm, manage time, and solve problems on your feet. A meticulous eye for detail is essential in this role.
